| 16/04/10 The Gillespie Borate has arrived
and will be on the shelves in a couple of days. It is a blended high purity,
high colloid material virtually identical to Gerstley Borate but more
consistent due to the blending and quality controlled processing. It
produces lower levels of crawling and pin hole effects. It also has fewer
impurities and produces brighter glazes and colours than the old Gerstley
Borate material. It provides the same minerals to the glaze and is a one for
one replacement in recipes - imparting the same glaze activity, texture and
effects. SiO2 11.8%, CaO 23%, K2O 0.01%, Al2O3 1.7%, MgO 3.9%, Na2O 3.77%,
B2O3 3.9%, SrO 0.45%. Please see the raw

| 02/03/10 We are expecting to have Gillespie
Borate in stock in a few weeks time - it is on its way from the US. It is
mined very close to the now closed gerstley borate quarry but the two
factors that make this better is that it is blended to be more consistent
and it is still mined! Customers have tested this and we think it is not
just a substitute or replacement for gerstley borate we think it is a better
product. As usual we will be selling it at a cost-effective
price |

associations events as they are a wonderful source of information and help
for experienced and new potters - if there is one near you we strongly
recommend you join . We offer a 5% discount to any member of a potters
association who can quote their membership number - excluding direct
deliveries of clay and kilns, wheels, equipment. |

are holding an exhibition featuring 36 of their members at Rufford Craft
Centre, NG22 9DF from Tuesday 30th March to Sunday 9th May and we are
sponsoring a couple of small prizes and judging one of them at the preview
