VC14 Earthstone 50 - Crank

ES 50 Earthstone (Crank) is an ideal clay body crafted specifically for hand builders and sculptors seeking exceptional quality and versatility. Its suitability for raku firing further enhances its appeal, making it a preferred choice for artists looking to achieve unique surface effects and textures.

Featuring an open textured, coarsely grogged composition, ES 50 retains remarkable plasticity while offering the robust characteristics typical of crank clay. This includes excellent warp resistance, low shrinkage, and impressive strength in both its greenware and fired states.

With a firing range spanning from 1120°C to 1280°C, ES 50 adapts to various firing conditions, producing a toasted buff hue in oxidation firings and a rich, warm speckled orange buff under reduction.
